Meet the Team
FA-qualified coaches, sports therapists, and biomechanics specialists. Every athlete who comes to EPP is supported by people who have trained at, or worked within, professional performance environments.
Ben Royal is the founder of Elite Player Performance and the driving force behind bringing Premier League-standard athlete testing to grassroots and semi-professional athletes across the West Midlands. With an FA Level 3 coaching qualification, UEFA C Licence, and deep expertise in youth athletic development, Ben established EPP to close the gap between what academy athletes receive and what grassroots players can access.
A CQC Registered Manager by background — also overseeing The Vesey Private Hospital in Sutton Coldfield — Ben brings the same evidence-based, data-driven rigour to athletic performance that clinical governance demands. At EPP, he personally delivers the majority of initial assessment sessions and leads the coaching team across all group and squad programmes.
Ben is Enhanced DBS certified and a qualified safeguarding lead. His athlete-centred philosophy is built on one core belief: every athlete, from a U8 grassroots player to a semi-professional, deserves access to the same quality of performance data and coaching that elite academies take for granted.
