Alexander Stadium in Perry Barr is the UK's largest athletics stadium and one of the finest athletic performance venues in the world. Redeveloped to a £72 million specification for the 2022 Commonwealth Games, it features a World Athletics Category 1 certified track, state-of-the-art indoor facilities and a dedicated High Performance Centre.
Training and competing in a world-class environment matters. EPP chose Alexander Stadium as our flagship location because we believe every athlete deserves access to elite facilities — regardless of their level or background.
World Athletics Cat. 1 Track
Nine-lane, World Athletics Category 1 certified synthetic track. The same surface that hosted Commonwealth Games athletics in 2022 and will host the 2026 European Athletics Championships.
High Performance Centre
On-site performance centre with gym facilities, biomechanics lab and athlete support services. Home to UK Athletics' Performance Innovation Centre.

Multiple bus routes serve Walsall Road directly outside the stadium. Routes 51, 52, X51 and X52 from Birmingham city centre.
By Car
Free on-site parking available. From Birmingham city centre — A34 Walsall Road north, approximately 15 minutes. From the M6 — Junction 7 (Great Barr), 5 minutes.

30 minutes by car via A34 and M42. Athletes from Solihull, Shirley and Knowle regularly train with us.
